I spent most of last evening having an amazing dinner at Cafe Opera, a gorgeous restaurant in central Stockholm.
Although the menu selection was vast, I found it appropriate that we ate a traditional Swedish meal: Swedish Meatballs, Ligonberries, potatoes and vegetables -- and as juveneille as it may have sounded, it was delicious! Filling too!
By the time we finished our Creme Brulee, and sipped our remaining wine -- the restaurant was transformed into a very cool night club.
It was straight out of a scene from some sort of spy movie. You know those scenes, the ones where James Bond goes into the "chic" nightclub looking for some eurotrash mafia crimelord.
And what was funny was the place had a very mafiouso feel to it. Russian gangsters / crime lord types dressed in Versace. Young pretty Scandanavian model girls running all over the place. Ridiculously overpriced drinks. Whack euro-techno-mixed-with-90s-hits-like-C&C-Music-Factory-everybody-dance-now music. It was everything you could ask for and more from a euro nightclub.
My cousin actually saw her major client, so she sent over a bottle of champagne. Very out of a movie stuff. Funny.
Needless to say, most of my morning today has been a write-off. Lying in bed, looking out into the sea drinking orange juice and watching "So you think you can dance" -- I think it's time to shower and head into the city!
